Some members of the public who used to come regularly from different parts of the city to visit the Anderson Swimming pool (now known as Rabindra Sarobar), contemplated to have swimming practice as well as Lifesaving practice in an organized way. To materialize their contemplation they held a meeting on a fine morning of the Bengali new year’s day (1 st Baisakh, 1366) under the Chairmanship of Sri Girindra Nath Das, on the bank of Rabindra Sarobar. More than 30 heads were present in the said meeting and it was resolved that an organization to be formed and be named as “LAKE FRIENDS” and the main objective shall be for ‘Educational purposes for both physical and cultural activities’. An enthusiastic member, Sri Sisir Kumar De came forward with an offer of allowing ‘Lake Friends’ one of the rooms of his house at 14, South End Park, Calcutta -29 as its registered office. This offer was immediately accepted with great pleasure. In the said meeting an Executive Committee as named below was formed –

• Hony Asst Gent. Secretary : Sri. Souren Bose.
• Hony Treasurer : Sri. Birendra Nath Mukherjee.

And power to co-opt one member

Within a day or two the printing of membership forms, receipt books, letter heads, emblem of the club, etc. was completed with the sincere effort of Sunil Paul and Sri Bakshis Singh. In the said year,this organisation was registered under the West Bengal Society Act, and affiliated with the Bengal Swimming Association.

• 1. Bar cum Restaurant will be open between 11.00 AM to 11.00 PM
• 2. Last Orders for Food will be accepted till 10.00 PMand Drinks order will be accepted till 10.10 PM. All the bills should be settled within 10.30 PM.
• 3. The Bar cum Restaurant will close at 11.00 PM sharp.
• 4. Entry at the Bar Cum Restaurant without valid Membership card will not be allowed.
• 5. Limited number of guests will be allowed with one member. A guest charge of Rs.40/- (Rupees Forty only) will be applicable for each guest. If the no. of guests exceeds 4, prior permission of Secretary is required. Members will be responsible for guest’s behavior.
• 6. Round neck T Shirts, Shorts, Slippers without back strap/Plastic or Rubber Slippers, Half Sleeved Vests, Kurta with Jeans Trouser, Track Suit and Sports Wear are not permitted inside the Bar cum Restaurant.Children up to 18 years of age will not come under the dress code.
• 7. Members their Spouses, Children (below the age of 18 years) will not be treated as guests.
• 8. Members and their guests shall not be permitted to move outside the Restaurant with any Drinks, utensils, cutleries, food.
• 9. Members and guests are requested to maintain the decorum (Loud voice & Slang language not allowed) otherwise strict disciplinary measures will be taken.
• 10. Outside food will not be allowed during Bar cum Restaurant Hours.
• 11. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the Bar cum Restaurant.
• 12. WE DO NOT PROVIDE HOME DELIVERY SERVICES.
